Welcome to Prenatal Yoga as part of your motherhood journey! This class is open to all women and can be safely practiced all the way leading up to your labor of love and birth. It can then be taken up again postpartum once you are given the green light by your provider. It is a very gentle Yoga so we find it is best to wait until after the first trimester to initiate yoga practices, particularly the Asanas (postures). You are welcome to join at any time during your pregnancy, I just recommend allowing the body to adjust, anchor, and transition with your pregnancy. It will also greatly reduce the risk of injury. We find it best to wait to practice asanas in a class (unless you are a very seasoned) until after the first 12 wks. Early pregnancy symptoms such as nausea/vomiting/fatigue have often times lessened, energy is increasing, and risk for injury lessons once through your first trimester.
If you still very early in your pregnancy, & would like to begin a yoga practice, you might consider a private session which can offer you individualized breathing and meditation techniques that will enable you to deepen your connection with the new life growing inside you and prepare you for Prenatal Yoga during the remainder of your pregnancy.
